Poor communication, unreliable service

I decided to go with this company because they offered a decent (although not the cheapest rate), seemed to have a friendly staff, and got good reviews on this website.

However, I have been extremely frustrated with their service. When I was first placing my order (i.e. before I paid them), they were very helpful and friendly and told me that it would take 7 or 8 days to get my car from MD to California.

The driver picked up my car in a timely fashion, although he asked me if he could drop the car off at a nearby lot in Berkeley, CA rather than in front of my apartment (easily accessible by trucks) because it would be more "convenient" for him.

I called to get the status of my car the week after it was picked up, and they estimated that it would arrive the following week (12 days after the pickup date as opposed to the originally cited 7-8 days). Now, 12 days after it was picked up, they said that it won't be here for another two days, although I certainly won't count on it. Apparently the most recent delay is caused by someone else who's car is being delivered who isn't there to pick it up. I don't see why they can't just leave the car in a terminal and move on.

The staff has not been very responsive, helpful or nice whenever I have contacted them to get updates on my car. It makes me very nervous and anxious to think that this company doesn't know where my car is, what is causing the delays, etc. It also makes me nervous that they keep pushing back the delivery date. I understand that there are unforseen delays, but I think they could be a little more specific about and responsive to my concerns. They really have you over a barrel, as their contract says they cannot guarantee any delivery dates. I have spent $350 on a car rental already because my car was not delivered when I thought it would be.
