Super frustrating experience and a waist of time and energy. After several informative and polite calls and emails, we agreed on an after 5pm pickup because of work schedule. The setting up and paying the deposit was super easy and the staff responded super quick. On the day of pickup, the driver calls and says will be there at 2pm (received call at 11:15), and complains how inconveniently far away we are and that he's not waiting. He states that he is being contracted by American Auto, that he is a independent contractor, and they didn't send information about pickup or time or that he doesn't honor it (unclear which). Then offers to wait for $300 an hour. I call the office and the same folks that were quick to respond earlier, were no where to be found. Hours go by, and after no responses or return phone call or text from either driver or home office. I texted them both and told them I was cancelling it. I can respect the fact that the broker and transport are different companies but a broker ghosting a customer during pickup and belligerent "hell-or-high road" drivers is a nightmare and cause a lot of distrust between consumers and auto shippers.
