I have a summer internship with General Motors and need a car for transportation from work to home. I searched the internet for companies that would give me a good price. Well that is when I felt that AARP had good services. I had been talking to them for a month or so getting information about my transportation. They offered me a discount since they would transport my vehicle two times. When I was making my reservations I kept telling them that my NUMBER ONE CONCERN was the car being there on time in Michigan. I was scheduled to start my job on May 19, 2008. I told Diane from AAPR that I would pay any fees to guarantee the day of the delivery since I need the car up there in time. She said that I did not need to since the reservation was made two months in advance. At this time I had no problem reaching them on the phone and they were very polite. Then I received an email saying that my car would be picked up on May 13, 2008. On May 10 I called AARP to make sure that everything was on schedule, they said yes that everything was ok and that the driver would call me 12-24 hours before the pick up date. That day came and no phone call from the driver. I called AARP and they said the driver was making another delivery near by to wait for his phone call. Well no phones call all day and I waited at home all day and had to call into work. The next day I called them this is when I started to have a hard time reaching them on the phone, I would leave messages and they would not respond back. When I finally got to talk to Diane she said the truck broke down and that they are sending another one the next day. I told her that our agreement was that the car would be in MI on the 17 or 18 of May and that they are already two days late if they were still going to make it on time. She said yes that they have a window still to make it on time. Well the day came for me to leave to MI on an airplane and the car still had not been picked up. I must have called like 40 times from the day of pick up to the day I left on the airplane to AARP. I was having such a hard time reaching them. Well I showed up to MI and still my car had not been picked up. Now when I would call, I would not get an excuse any more either they would hang up on me or transfer me to a machine. This continued till May 27 or so. I had to be working so my father and brother would call them for me and the same thing would happen to them. They would be told the car would be picked up on a certain date and no one would. My dad spent many days at home waiting for them to pick up the car. I tried calling them every day, without any luck finally I got tired and called them to cancel the service. Once again I got an answer machine, left a massage saying that I was going to cancel the services. I received a call back from AARP finally after never being able to get a hold of them. I talk to them and told them I canceled the charge since they never picked up my car or answered my phone calls. The lady say why did I do that for and hung up on me. I called back right away and got an answer machine again. Never use this company Trust me you will regret it.
