My transport requirement was for an old car that was rollable and steerable but not operational. The pickup location was also in a small town in upstate New York. Initial discussions indicated that this would not be an easy job due to the location and conditions. I had not seen the car for years and needed to do some work on it to ensure it was rollable and steerable. Therefore, I had to get to the pickup site, work on the car, be there for pickup, and be back in Florida for the delivery.
After reviewing numerous quotes from various transport brokers ranging from $500 to $895, I selected two mid-range quotes to pursue. Research showed that All State Carriers had an excellent rating, so I chose them at $680. I contacted Richard Sherman by telephone the week before my estimated pickup window start date and gave him my specific requirements and limitations. He was cordial, knowledgeable, and had a positive attitude that gave me confidence that my request could be executed. He placed my request on the trucker website, and I departed for New York.
On the second day of my five-day pickup window, within hours of having the car ready to ship, I received a call from Ziggy - Z&R Southern Comfort, LLC asking for directions. Within about four hours of that, the car was loaded and on the way. I contacted Richard Sherman the next day to coordinate and found that he already had all the details.
I returned to Florida the day before Ziggy delivered to my front door with no problems. All financial transactions took place as scheduled. I confirmed delivery with Richard Sherman. Both he and Ziggy were friendly, courteous, competent and professional in their jobs. I would recommend both any time. Thanks for the opportunity to comment.
