Nightmare

Needed delivery of car from CA to NJ in 10 days, which fit in to the 7-10 estimate. Quote indicated pickup on Sunday, 7/22. I contacted AMKO on the previous Friday and was told they would pick the car up on Monday, and then ship on Tuesday, which was OK.
Where the nightmare began is when I called again to check on the delivery date that I was told that the car did not leave CA until Saturday, 7/28 and there was no way the car would arrive in NJ by 8/2 when it was needed. They explained their truck was in the shop and the delay was caused by the shop not fixing the truck as promised. I never got a call from AMKO advising me of the delay and no opportunity to make other arrangements.
I was supposed to drive my car to MA on 8/3. The actual, final destination for their truck was MA, so I , begrudgingly, advised them they could deliver the car to MA. Subsequently to speaking with their dispatcher, I got a call from the driver stating he would be delivering the car to NEW JERSEY on Sat. August 4. Unfortunately, I had driven a rental car to MA by then. I freaked, called the dispatcher and the car was FINALLY delivered to MA on Monday, 8/6.
I asked for some consideration from AMKO for the $115, cost to rent the car to drive to MA, as well as my aggravation, but got nowhere.
I partially blame SafeDirect, the broker, for assigning this carrier to move my car. They should have a better screening process.

We apologize for the inconvenience that our service caused you. Our drivers do their best to honor the 7-10 days estimation. Driving across country is not easy for the drivers and depending on weather, traffic, truck problems and possibly even other customers, delays can occur. Unfortunately, we do not reimburse for rental or late fees. We are constantly working with the drivers to meet their scheduled times and be more consistent about it.
