AAA INC. was contacted for a quote. In order to get a quote, a few questions were asked in order for them to give me a quote. As an error, this amount was sent to them in the form of money orders by the party receiving the car in Puerto Rico, the money was suppose to be sent to me, instead of AAA INC. I contacted AAA via fax that the money has been sent to them as an error instead, and that they should return it to the sender. I received a call from AAA on September 29, 2005 telling me that they have the right to keep the amount of $1,398.00 since the money its in their name anyways. I explain to them that no contract has been signed or agreed to, and that no services has been provided from their part to me since I only contacted them for just a quote. Please note that their requirements are:
- a signed contract
- copy of the vehicle title and registration
- to be received by 9/26
without it a contract will not take effect. AAA have no rights to take advantage of the situation and the money should be returned to the sender. Instead of returning the money to the sender they preceded on cashing it without providing any service to me. It is a month later and they have not returned the money nor offered to deliver the car since they already have the full amount in their possession.
