A real letdown

I researched 10 auto moving companies to move my son's car from Florida to Texas and went with AA-Automovers out of Denville, New Jersey whose sales rep lamented the bad rap the industry has. Of course they were different. They were the second highest price ($755) of all the quotes but I went with them becouse their Platinum service promised a 3 day window for pick-up.My window was May 12-14.
The carrier they assigned contacted me that they would pick up the car on Friday May 14.
I flew to Florida where my son attends school on May 12.
No sooner do I get there when I receive a call from the carrier that they will not pick up until Monday May 16. I gotta problem since we are flying back to Texas on Sunday. I spent several hours over2 days finding a student who would help out and be there for pick-up on Monday.
On Friday night I get another call saying whoops can't pick
up until Tuesday.
At that point I had no other options and ended up driving 30 hours back to Texas.
Nick and AA-automovers ignored my phone call and e-mails.
Very disappointed in the service. I will be making a complaint to the Florida consumer protection department. I don't understand how they can continue to get away with this stuff.

We are sorry that the customer's transport company experienced an unavoidable delay. Delays are common in over-the-road hauling, which is why customers are advised in writing in our Terms to designate an alternate pickup or delivery contact in case they can not be available themselves. Had an alternate contact been identified when the order was placed at the end of April, there would have been less stress at the time of the delay.
