I believe the original cost was low-balled, in hopes of finding a carrier to accept it. He indicated several times soon after original pick up date that he was sure it would be on it's way 'tomorrow', or in a short time. This evolved into 'I'm waiting for a truck' for at least a week, with no indication that there was any real problem. After 2 weeks we were contacted and told it would be necessary to add $100 to the price to get the car shipped, which we felt forced to agree to. During much of this time I feel we were left hanging unnecessarily, and our contacts ran from at least poor customer relations to downright dishonesty. Since it was necessary to rent a car for an additional 2 weeks, the cost of which is not included in the transport cost, the total cost to us was half again what we had budgeted.
