I used 4 Corners Transport Service after finding them on Angie's List. I wanted to use a local company and they had great reviews. I liked that everyone said how great their communication was and I was fortunate to experience that too!
When I called I first spoke with Jeff. He was super informative and gave me a very affordable quote...I'd checked a couple other places and he was by far the cheapest (by about $500!). Since I was shipping the car to my son at college, I didn't want to have to have my son show up with $850 in cash to pay the driver (which I read was the norm for most carriers) - I was afraid it would get stolen or spent before the driver showed up. Jeff arranged for me to be able to prepay the whole amount, so it was a big relief!
When I called back that afternoon, Thursday 4/23 (after running all the details by my husband), Ellen helped me finalize my order. She was also very informative and walked me through all the steps. When I voiced concerns about the car being held hostage by the driver and other horror stories I'd read on-line, she assured me that they used reputable drivers to do the actual transport of the vehicles but if there was any problems that my son should call her and the police if it ever came to that - which thankfully it didn't.
The car was picked up at our house on Monday afternoon, 4/27 around 5pm (I had other things to do that morning). The next day I emailed Jeff and asked the ETA on arrival and he emailed right back with 5/5 or 5/6. On Monday, 5/4, I emailed again requesting a morning delivery because of my son's school schedule. I then got a call from the actual transport carrier and he worked around my son's schedule and even delivered at 11pm on 5/5, so my son wouldn't have to miss any classes the next day!
It was great! Everyone was so helpful and answered all my questions within about 15 minutes of me asking them! I would definitely use them again! My son even had a specialty sub-woofer and amp in the car worth about $800 and we had been very concerned about it actually making it to him. It arrived safe and sound too! Can't say enough good things about them and the companies they work with. Thanks Jeff & Ellen for helping us - you did an AMAZING job! :)
