Everything was good about four corners except the way in which my motor cycle was shipped. We knew that it would be delivered on a open carrier, however we did not know the precarious way in which it would be loaded, hauled, and most importantly, unloaded. The motorcycle was loaded on the front of a standard automobile carrier that has the two tracks to run the car upon, but nothing in between - just empty space. The driver of the truck could not load it, so the people at the Honda dealership had to precariously load it crossways on the front of the trailer, with one tire on the one track and the other tire on the second track, straddlingy the empty space. The sales lady at the cycle shop said that it was very difficult to load it and that they had never sent one out like that before.
The worst part is when he arrived at our house to deliver it; we had no idea that the cycle was loaded in such a dangerous way. I was thinking that it could just be ridden or rowed off. We just so happen to have a friend here with us, and he, the truck driver, my wife, and I spent 45 minutes to an hour unloading the motorcycle. We had to work to get the tires of a 550 pound motorcycle on to one narrow track. He placed a short rail diagonally from one track to the other for the purpose of trying to get the back wheel on it and moving it over to get on the same track as the front wheel. Several times we came close to dropping the motorcycle. There is no way to describe how dangerous unloading the cycle was to us and the motorcycle. The motorcycle should not have been hauled on that truck in that way. If it had only been the truck driver and myself trying to unload, we would have never been able to do it. The truck driver seem not to have a grasp of hauling motorcycles- especially bigger ones. I expected more professionalism from Four Corners.

Wes we are sorry for the trouble caused by the method of the shipper we hired to transport your motorcycle. We specifically asked the carrier about their equipment to transport a motorcyle on open carrier. We turned down to caariers for this specific reason. We did a thorough check of their insurance to make sure that they had the insurance to transport a motorcyle, they did. Unfortunately they embellished their capabilities. We as your broker are sorry. We have always reccomended to our clients that want to ship motorcycles that enclosed carrier is the safest and most sound way to ship. This instance proves the extra cost might be worth it. We and anybroker are not there at pick up and delivery. There is no way to know the exact goings on. Unlike a automobile the vehicle is not designed to go on that type of transporter. Automobiles are. The lesson learned here is that in regards to motorcycles we are now going to insist that they go on an enclosed carrier. This will ensure that there is no issue with stradeling the tracks again. We are happy though that no damage was done. Both human or mehanical.
