I recently purchased a new car from a dealership in Northern California and needed to get the vehicle down to Los Angeles. I did a search of auto transport carrier services and reached out to several. I settled on Mike at Yellow Brick Transport because of his thorough and patient follow-up. I had never used this kind of service and Mike explained how the broker-carrier-client relationship worked. He quickly located a guy with a solo flat bed who conveniently was heading down to L.A. the next day. Mike conveyed the price the operator wanted, I confirmed, and next day the car was dropped off in my driveway. Everything was very easy and went as planned. The only thing I would caution about is the overall price. In his initial email and text outreach, Mike quoted a very low price of $295. Turns out this is actually an estimate and may have no connection at all to reality, as it is totally dependent on what a carrier is willing to do the job for. Yellow Brick's broker fee is $95, so a driver would need to do the job for $200 to match the quote. In my case, the driver wanted $350. Add on the $95 broker fee, it's considerably more than Yellow Brick's quote and more in line with what other brokers were quoting. I'd like to see a bit more language prominently displayed on their quotes indicating this is an estimate and the actual final price may vary significantly depending on what the carriers are willing to do the job for.
