After posting my original review, Wise Auto Shipping attempted to deny I was a customer. I furnished proof to Transport Reviews that I was indeed a customer and the negative review was reinstated. On 5/12/2010 I contracted with Wise to ship my Cadillac DeVille from California to a major metropolitan area in Alabama. I stated I was somewhat flexible on the delivery date. I was given a first available pickup date of 6/2/10 with the caveat there would be a 5 business day window for scheduling. After the agreed upon pickup date passed I telephoned Wise Auto and was given the excuse that there were thunderstorms and tornadoes which prevented them from securing a carrier. We shipped two PODS (portable on demand storage) units filled with household goods during the same time frame that arrived promptly from CA to AL with no problem. On 6/18/10 I was informed by Heidi from Wise Auto that Alabama was not on their regular shipping route so the price had now increased to $925 with an estimated pickup time of 6/24 to 6/28. I agreed to the increased price and was assured by Heidi that she would "babysit" my order and call me immediately upon securing a carrier. On 6/28 I telephoned Wise twice to inquire about the pickup and my calls were never returned. on 6/29 I cancelled my order with Wise Auto Shipping for failure to perform as agreed. I believe I was given a lowball price in the beginning to secure my order and after approximately 4 weeks had passed from the original pickup date I was given an increased price. Flexibility on the delivery date is one issue, 4 weeks of excuses are quite another issue. I was never informed prior to signing the shipping agreement that Alabama was not on their regular shipping route. I strongly question the honesty and ethics of this company especially in light of the fact that Wise Auto attempted to deny I was ever a customer when I have copies of all correspondence including a signed transport agreement. I would not use this company again nor would I recommend Wise Auto Shipping to anyone else.

We are terribly sorry for any inconvenience the delay in pickup may have caused. However, Wise nor any other broker could have foreseen or prevented the issues that arose here. This is a route that we normally have an abundance of carriers, but do to the weather and spike in gas prices on this route, our normal contracted carriers had shut down indefinitely. Once an issue like this arises Wise Dispatch Team will begin a 'triage' stage. Which entails waiving all broker fees associated with the order, adding extra fees to the carrier rate to entice off route carriers, and proactively looking for carriers that our outside of our network. Unfortunately, due to the customers uncommon pickup location and issues previously mentioned, the problem simply compounded as we got deeper into our busy summer season. Wise Auto Shipping did everything we could to help move this vehicle, including waiving our fees and offering to pay out of our pocket any extra cost it would take to get picked up. However, as it was explained to the customer and contrary to their claim, this was not a matter of money, but was due rather, to the lack of carriers on this route at this time. This is highly uncommon for us on any route in the country and as previously mentioned, issues like this are extremely hard to predict. All we can do when they arise, is to help the customer understand the situation and hold their hands until the vehicle gets moved. With that said, The vehicle WOULD HAVE GOTTEN MOVED. Based on our progress and as we informed the customer it was just a matter of waiting a few more days for the weather to subside in the east and fuel costs to drop. In regards to the transportreviews.com claim, this is simply or process and our right to verify reviews that are placed about or company on this website. There are many fraudulent reviews placed on TR.com every day and therefore we must be vigilant in determining if these reviews are actually our customers or not. We are sorry if the process of verifying the review was inconvenient for the customer. Lastly, customer states that we did not waive our broker fee after here initial agreement to upgrade to Express Service. This is simply not true. On the 2nd Day of the 3 day window for Express Service, Wise Auto Shipping waived all broker fees and applied the entire shipping cost to the carrier rate to help expedite booking. In closing, we are terribly sorry for any inconvenience and understand that this was a very frustrating experience for the customer. However, we do not feel that this review provides an accurate representation of the services provided by Wise. As you can see from our numerous other customer reviews, issues like these are highly uncommon. Nevertheless and as always Wise will use this negative review to help us better our services and customer support procedures.
