I used White Hawk Auto's to transport my car from Michigan to California in a open transport. I went through a another transportation company (amerifreight). The pickup was on time and the driver was courteous and knew what he was doing. I was told anywhere from 5 to 7 days until drop off and he arrived with my car the night of the 6th day. He arrived at 11pm and was once again courteous and nice. We looked the car over at night with limited use of flashlights. The car was very dirty due to the open transportation (it was dirty at pickup but not dirty enough that you didn't notice dents or scratches). I didn't see any damage so I signed the form and parked my car. The next day I went to the car wash just over a mile away and back. When I re-looked over my car I noted a scratch with a dent above my driver's side door. After taking a day to decide if I wanted to get it fixed I decided to go ahead and get it fixed. I submitted a claim to White Hawks Auto and they shortly after called me and said they wouldn't process my claim since the damage was not noted on the bill of lading. I mentioned the dirt due to open transportation and the fact that the delivery was done at 11pm and they told me I could have refused acceptance of the car until the next day and still refused the claim. Basically the company would not work with me after I signed the Bill of Lading without the damage Future transporting of my car will not go through this company and I suggest to everyone else that they do not accept any delivery of car/s during the night and make their drivers wait until the next day.
