Transport fine, but customer service poor

Initially I dealt with Ben when making the arrangements on the phone--he was helpful and responsive. We were told we would get a call 24 hours in advance of car pickup and it ended up being 4 hours before the carrier came (same day). We had to scramble a little but no big deal.

The big problem came the day the car was delivered. We got a call from my friend at the destination that the car was being delivered, did I approve of the amount for him to pay? My family was traveling and I didn't have the paperwork handy; the amount didn't sound familiar. I asked for the breakdown and the carrier didn't have any of that info.

I called the main number and got Jerry; he was very rude and difficult to deal with. I have no doubt believing the other reviews on the site about Jerry's inability to provide customer service. All I wanted was a simple breakdown of the cost: the deposit, the balance, and the fuel surcharge. I'm not sure why that was asking so much, but Jerry wouldn't even look up my information. When I saw I wasn't getting the info I needed, I got off the phone and tried my best to remember what the amount should be and gave the approval to accept the car delivery. In the end, the amount was correct (with the full fuel surcharge of course) but it ruined my whole experience to have Jerry be so unnecessarily rude.

The carrier told my friend that he does not get the fuel surcharge forwarded to him; I don't know if that is true or not.
