I needed to ship my son's car from NM to VA quickly because of a company move of his. After I got many quotes for $900-$1000 and uncertain whom to call, I relied on some positive reviews for this company and so called them. Xaiver of the company said "Would you like your car shipped for $675?" so I jumped at his offer. Then Allen the dispatcher told me that for this request to go on to the national board to find a carrier I needed to give a $200 deposit at that time. Then, after they had the deposit, and 3 days had passed, I was told by Allen that they had found a carrier who would do it for no less than $950, but not until later in the week, and Universal would "eat" $50 of this additional cost, leaving the total to me now at $900, not the $675 Universal quoted me and was on the first Auto Transport Job Order that I electronically signed . The car was delivered, and the carrier, F&S Transportation, out of Tuscon, AZ was very professional and delivered as promised once I was talking with them, and advised me that no carrier would have transported the car for the price that Universal Transport had quoted minus their $200 deposit / commission that they already had. (I paid the carrier $700.) So I suggest to Universal that honesty up front, and less deceitful, low ball, bait and switch pricing is the only way to get repeat customers. I won't be one of them.
