I spoke with many brokers before I chose UFA Services for a move from Connecticut to California. They were prompt in answering the phone and returning messages and emails. Another thing I liked about them was the fact that they did not promise the sky and fail to deliver. They were upfront about the possibility of a delay in the pickup. I emailed my agreement on the 30th of December for a first available date of the 4th of January. I primarily spoke with Chaya during the process. They were closed from 31st Dec to 2nd Jan. I received an email from Jessica on Monday (3rd) morning that they did not receive my agreement. I immediately emailed my agreement again. While they were unable to find a driver for pickup during the promised 3-4 days window, I was kept informed over email and phone. Jessica called me on Friday to provide a status update. I received a call first thing on Monday (10th) from Adi when they found a driver for pickup on the same day. The car was at my friend's place since I had moved out already. I got my car in 10 days.
This is my first moving experience and while it was not perfect it was not bad either. I have realized from this whole experience that the brokers are unable to assure an exact pickup date. So having an honest broker helps ease the pain. Although there was a delay in the pickup of my car, they communicated clearly and often. I would rather hear sooner the possibility that my car may not be picked up in the given window and make arrangements in advance. The 2nd important factor was that UFA billed me after they assigned a driver. Some brokers demand an immediate deposit. I recommend UFA to others for their move.
