UZ Auto Trans. Inc .(UZ) picked up our Ford Explorer on August 20, 2014, in Lakewood Colorado and was suppose to deliver it to our new home in Urbandale, Iowa on Saturday, August 23. When the car was not delivered as promised, I called the next day to ask where it was. Zabi said he couldn’t tell me anything and to call back. Ultimately, I was told the car would be delivered on Tuesday, August 26.
The car was not delivered on the 26th. UZ wanted to deliver our car the next morning, but I told Zabi, we were closing on our new house that morning and our moving company would be delivering our goods right after that to the house. I finally agreed to have my son accept delivery on his way to work at a grocery store parking lot, some three miles away from the original destination.
When we picked up the car, we discovered a crack in the back hatch panel of the car. We called Zabi to report the damage. He told us to get two estimates and send them to him, which we did. The estimates were both a little over $500.00. We did not hear anything from UZ for some time. They basically stonewalled us at every turn.
We found UZ’s insurance company. UZ had never filed our claim. The insurance company called UZ and got them to call us. They basically said they wanted more information. It became clear to us that they were not going to do anything. We contacted the insurance company, and they said they could file the claim. However, after waiting for some time we called the insurance company and were told that UZ refused to comply.
I feel UZ has been negligent with us on the delivery of our car (not honoring a delivery date twice although we accommodated them by agreeing to let our son pick up the car at a different location), by making us jump through hoops to file a claim when they had no intention of honoring our claim, and by stonewalling us by telephone, not returning calls or giving us the run around when we tried to contact them. Our vehicle was damaged in the amount of $521.07 per the lowest estimate.

UZ Auto Trans requires the customers to start the claim within 2 days of delivery of the car. Mr Wolff started the claim after almost a week of receiving the car. Not only that, the receiver of the car in Iowa did not note any damages on the inspection sheet at the time of delivery. UZ driver states there were no damages at the time of delivery. There was nothing to prove that UZ did the damage, how do you expect UZ to pay for the damage??? That is the reason this claim was refused.
