I was promised by the shipping agent Henry Owens (henry.owen@truecarriers.com) that he would be able to ship my vehicle from San Diego to Maryland with an extended 3 day pick-up window and booked 10 days before per the guarantee that this would be sufficient time. When it came to the pick-up window starting Thursday, I called to confirm that even though it was going to be the weekend, there would still be a driver available and he would be available with any questions. When the weekend came and it was the final day for the pick-up, I made several phone calls to True Carrier and to the number Henry Owens provided me and I never received a response. Prior to signing the transportation documents, I made it explicitly clear I was only available during that window and I was on vacation visiting San Diego. Even with that constraint, his blatant disregard led to ruining a good portion of my vacation since I was forced me to find alternative plans to store the car and find a new carrier. In addition, the quote I received was $950, but when speaking to other dealers they told me what he noted in the system was $1250. I was very disappointed to hear that this was a classic bate and switch technique to get me to agree, but then over charge me. I am certain that if there was a driver to pick me up it would've been much higher than the provided quote. Overall, I am extremely disappointed in the services and the undue burden to myself and other for this situation. I ended up having to spend several hundred more dollars to find new arrangements and an honest broker. At the very least, I expected transparent communication which is non-existent here. In addition, I would like to express that COVID has been tough on me and many others and these types of unfair and deceptive practices are very sad to see.
