Since I am now afforded the opportunity to re-write this review I am going to take advantage of it. I was trying to ship a Dodge 3/4 ton pickup truck from California to Florida. I had already made arrangemments with another transport company do ship the truck. Out of the blue I recieved a call from Jeremy at Transport Services. He indicated that his company could guarantee a pickup date where most companies could not. He told me his company can guarantee a pickup date because not only were they a broker but they also had their own fleet of trucks which they could dispatach for a guaranteed pick up.

I cancelled with the other company and placed an order with Jeremy to have my vehicle picked up on March 25th. I paid the upfront $100 deposit and signed the contract. The guaranteed pickup date WAS a part of the contract. I read the contract and also noted a comment about a possible fuel surcharge. I called Jeremy back to question the surcharge and was told "don't worry that doesn't apply to you."

On March 24th the day before the pick up date I called to check on the status of the pickup and was told by Arie that it was on schedule to be picked up on 3/25. I called on 3/25 to see if they were still on schedule and Arie said they were still on schedule. On 3/25 at 6PM I called and spoke to Arie agin who said they were still on schedule and the driver can pick up between 6 AM and 10 PM. Well 10 PM came and went and no pick up.

I called the next morning and left a message for Jeremy which was not returned. I spoke to Arie again who told me the driver had mechanical problems and the truck was in the shop. She said hopefully the vehicle would be picked up in the next day ot two. Well two days passed and no call from anyone nor was the vehicle picked up.

I called again and spoke Arie who now told me the truck was in for repairs and it would be two weeks before it got fixed but they were trying to get another driver who should be there in the next two days. I had emailed Jeremy as well as left another phone message and no response from him.

Now I began to get suspicious. I started reading some comments on this web site and saw other people who were told that Transport Services had their own trucks but found out they did not and they were also lied to. I also read where people got stung after finding out they had to pay an additional amount for the fuel surcharge after agreeing on a set price.

I did some checking and found my truck was sitting on the board waiting for any driver to pick it up. That told me Transport Services had lied about using their own trucks to pick it up. I also saw numerous other comments from people who were told delays were from trucks breaking down.

Now it all added up. This company has a reputation for providing false information to its cusomters and being less than upfront when it comes to the services it can provide. They have horrible customer service since they do not return phone calls or emails nor do they keep you informed. I was the one that had to keep calling them.

There may be some people who have had good service where the vehicle gets placed on the board and a driver is found right away and is shipped with no problems. However, if you are given a guaranteed pickup date for get it. It won't happen. Next you have to worry about getting hit with a fuel surcharge.

Trust me from experience, any transport company worth their salt will #1 not take a deposit from you until a driver has been found, #2 the agreed upon price will be the final price with no fuel charge added, and #3 will not, as a broker, guarantee a pickup date as they can't. Lastly, stay away from companies offering the cheapest price. This is just a come on. Reputable companies know how much drivers need to take your vehicle and they will ask that plus a customary broker fee. If a company is asking far less look out. Your vehicle will either sit there for awhile or the company will hit you up for more money later.

Lastly, after I first wrote this comment Transport Services had my comment removed indicating that I was not a customer. Fortunately for me I had my contract which showed I was a customer and had already paid a deposit. Yet another lie by this company to protect their reputation and cover up their poor service.

Fortunately for me I was able to contact my credit card company and put my deposit in dispute and thereore got my money back from the credit card company. Transport Services will tell you in fine print that if you cancel before 10 days you will only get 1/2 your deposit back. This makes it difficult for you to get back with your credit card company to dispute the charge if it is past the time frame.

Please be aware of this company. There are a lot of shady companies out there. This is one of them, but there are also good ones. Read the reviews carefully and if you see ANY negative ones stay away.

Fortunately for me had a backup plan and my vehicle eventually was picked up by a more reputable company.
