Deceptive pricing

I checked around for car transportation pricing and found one for $875. Total Car Shipping had good reviews here so I called them to see if they would match the price. Jay agreed to match the price about 10 days before the actual ship date.

I contacted them 3 days before asking when the actual ship date would be. Jay didn't pick up and the call went straight to voice mail. I called again 3 times before he finally called back at the end of the day saying he had been busy. No mention of a change in price or anything else.

1 day before the ship date, he still hadn't told me anything about a driver, pick up or anything else. Mind you, I'm moving from MA to TX, so I have a tight window. I call, leave several messages and finally, he tells me that he found a driver. Only one problem. He's now asking for an extra $100 and would be picking the car up a day late. This is 10 days after he agreed to the $875 price and the day before I leave. I had no choice but to accept this since it was too late to switch car shippers. I had to delay my road trip a day in order to accommodate and pay an extra $100.

I'm sure other experiences may have been different, but this was really, really shady given that he raised the price $100 because "the driver wanted more money". Isn't the whole point of a quote to ensure the price I'm going to pay? Anyway, I found the experience very disappointing and would not do business with this company again.
