Damaged vehicle - would not unload until release was signed

We used Tonne Transport in 2005 to ship our car from Maine to Oklahoma. They picked up a day late - and we had to have a friend release the vehicle for transport. He took LOTS of photos of the pickup to ensure we had a verifiable record of the condition of the car.

The vehicle was delivered on time - first red flag was that the driver team WOULD NOT UNLOAD the car until we signed the delivery release. The vehicle was absolutely filthy - as one might expect - so we immediately took it home and washed it. As soon as we washed it, we noticed the dent on the ROOF and damage to the windshield.

I immediately called the driver - and was told to call the company. I immediately called the company - and had to leave a message - day after day I had to leave messages. I sent emails, which were ignored. All messages were ignored and we finally had to write a letter - they denied the claim and we eventually turned the whole thing over to our insurance company - who took care of the damage for us - to the tune of $1200!

These people are criminals and should NEVER be trusted in my opinion.
