I chose this company because they were the first to contact me and also had the best rates. Holly was very friendly on the phone and was also very accommodating. She worked with me to get all the details needed to ensure the transaction went smoothly. Since my car is lowered, I was assured she would be getting a truck that could handle it. I told her of the last time I had the car shipped and she asked who shipped it. I told her and she said it doesn't surprise her because she hears complaints about them all the time.

Pickup day came and I waited most of the day only to find out it wasn't going to happen anymore. Nobody called me to let me know. The truck came the next day. I was told it would be one driver from pickup to delivery and the truck it got loaded on would be the truck it arrived on. The truck that came was a small work truck with a ramp over it that only fits about 3 cars. They said they would be taking it to another truck to go across country which would then go back to a smaller truck in Virginia. I was very irritated. That only got worse when they looked at my car and said it was too low for their truck. I had all this worked out ahead of time, they were a day late, and now I had to wait again.

I called Holly and she said she was upset and would take care of things. She had a different truck coming the next day. They got it loaded with no problems and everything went smoothly although they did say it would be on multiple trucks with multiple drivers throughout the process.

Arrival day came and the driver said he couldn't get it off the truck because it wouldn't go into gear. He managed to get it off the truck in neutral. He said the last driver told him about the problem and that it started happening midway through the transit. My car worked perfect upon loading it and now it wouldn't go into gear at all. It would only grind. He annotated it on the paper, collected the money, and left.

I called Holly and told her about the problem. She said she would look into it and get back to me. Over the course of the next 2 weeks, I sent multiple e-mails and voicemails only to never hear back. My car was sitting and was not able to be driven. I finally reached another employee on the phone. He told me Holly transferred to a sister company and didn't work there anymore and that nobody knew of my problem! He continued to tell me my problem wouldn't be covered because it says so in the agreement. They don't cover mechanical damage because it was not inspected prior. In this case, it was clear that somebody had driven it too hard and that was the cause but they said there was nothing they could do.

My car was down for about 2 months before i finally got the time to get it on jackstands and get underneath it. Turns out, they revved the engine to extremely high RPM's and slipped the clutch like crazy. This caused it to overheat and seize to my flywheel. I had to fix it on my own time and my own dime because they refused to acknowledge that one of the many drivers in transit may have done something.

I will never use The Car Transporters again!

I apologize for the bad experience you had with one of our past brokers. Holly no longer works at The Car Transporters. Unfortunately, as in all industries, there are times that things go sideways no matter how hard we try. Our goal for each and every transport is that it goes seamless for you and us......just makes for a better/stress-free day. If you are ever in need of shipping a vehicle again, I would like the opportunity to make things right. I understand your stance, but if there's anything I can do to assist you with anything moving forward, please call me direct. Thank you, Tony Quinn President The Car Transporters
