I booked transport of my 2013 BMW 650ix from Minnesota to North Carolina through the UShip platform. I received multiple quotes from Tempus Logix. I was confused about why multiple brokers from the same company would be allowed to bid on the same load. In any event I chose the quote from the person who responded to my request to provide their name even though it wasn’t the lowest price offered. DON’T DO THIS. Choose the lowest bid. No sooner than I accepted the bid, I get a call from someone other than the person who responded to my questions. When I asked about this the individual said I was probably communicating with his assistant. I had asked during the bidding process that the category of transport vehicle be specified. I was told multi-car enclosed. After they selected a carrier and booked my load, I learned it was actually a pickup with an enclosed trailer. I objected. My broker said he didn’t understand what the problem was. I shared my concerns about professionalism, ramps and tie down methodology. He reassured me the carrier (Bril-Logistics) had 100% 5 star reviews on Central Dispatch. I asked them to obtain a copy of the driver’s COI and send me photos of the trailer and their ramps. The first came, the second never did. Then, I was told my broker was going to be on vacation for the next two days. So, every issue that arose with my load was handled by whoever answered the phone at Tempus Logix. That probably would have been ok, except I’m on the east coast and they’re on the west coast. They were three hours behind the unfolding glitches with my load. I had prevailed upon the broker to provide the driver’s phone number before he left for his vacation. That proved fruitless. The driver spoke ZERO english. He hung up on me twice. It took multiple calls to multiple constituents to get an ETA for pickup. That time came, went, and was revised to three hours later. That time came and went and again after multiple calls to multiple people was revised to another three hours later. The new ETA was with a new driver of a different truck and trailer (still Bril-Logistics). Have no idea what his insurance coverage was. In trying to coordinate the delayed pickup time, my dealership learned this second driver also spoke ZERO english. That proved challenging at the time of delivery because when I asked to see the Bill of Lading, he had no idea what I was saying. I had to use his dispatcher on his phone (thank god I’m fully vaccinated) to translate between us. The good news is my car arrived in perfect condition less than 24 hours after pickup. Most would say, “how can you ask for anything more?” I am grateful. I just wish I hadn’t had to pay so much for the services of a broker who did little more than add my load to a data base.

Dear Janell, First of all, I want to thank you for putting together a comprehensive review that helps us improve our service and monitor our small mistakes. I want to respond on a point-by-point basis to confirm that both sides understand each other. You mentioned that you got several quotes from our company. Our response is yes because uShip's system is a reverse auction. So, many companies will quote on your shipment, and of every company, many bidders will quote during the auction. In the end, it's up to you to decide which business and offer you want to move forward. You have reserved with us a shipment for the transportation of a 2013 BMW 650ix with a closed trailer. Closed trailers are not only a kind, but they're also closed trailers that can carry up to 7 cars, and there are closed trailers that can carry two cars and even only one car. The difference is that when we say enclosed seven-car haulers, it means that a big semi-truck is needed to drive that enclosed container, but for closed trailers of 1 or 2 cars, we do not need semi-trucks, So a pickup truck is good enough to pull the small closed container. The carrier we assigned to your shipment is one of the best carrier companies experienced in transporting expensive luxury cars which require only closed transportation. We have given you a copy of the COI which covers all trucks of the company as you requested, and as we promised, you would receive your vehicle without even a scratch on our liability, which happened. Regarding the delays you mentioned. The first driver did have delays, so the company decided to send another driver to pick up your vehicle as soon as possible. The fact that the drivers didn't communicate well. I will discuss this with the carrier company. Finally, I want to apologize for the inconvenience and promise you personally that next time you will get the best service. Kind regards, and best of luck! Customer Care Team Tempus Logix
