The way I understand this to work is that ANYONE you call is a middle man. There is a national "board" where jobs are posted. All the middlemen have access to the same drivers.
Drivers check the boards and bid on the transport. The drivers with "problems" have to bid lower prices to get the job ... so chances are the cheap guys have had delivery (schedule) or damage issues. When you contract with a middleman that quotes very cheap prices, I believe it is because they are using sketchy drivers.
These guys quoted me a good price and had excellent ratings. I could have saved $50 or $100 going with someone else but my car is important to me so I paid for trust and reliability. I believe they re selective in their drivers and actually use the same reliable drivers over and over again. The bottom line: the car was picked up on time (they actually wanted to pick up a day early but we couldn't make it), and the car was dropped off on time - with no damage, tampering or theft.
Four or five people I know needed to have their cars transported and I sent them to SunCoast with the explanation above.
