After posting my information to a quote aggregator, my email inbox and phone were swamped with quotes; some from honest and very friendly brokers, and some from people who sounded like complete scam artists. I am happy to say that State 2 State was absolutely helpful and knowledgeable, and gave me a quote that, while slightly more than other companies, was definitely the right amount to ensure that my car would be picked up in a timely manner. Especially given that the car wasn't currently running, I actually expected to pay even more and was very pleased with the total amount. My quote was $1,195.00 - and only $100 of that was a deposit that actually went to State 2 State. Other brokers demand a deposit, usually much higher than $100, as soon as you sign with them - meaning you could be out $200 and still be sitting, waiting for a trucker to decide to pick your car up. When the broker takes a smaller deposit, the truckers receive more of the overall payment and have much more incentive to come get your car. State 2 State was awesome, giving more money to the truck driver to ensure that my car would be picked up quickly. Since you don't pay a dime until a trucker is on the way, I was also much more convinced they would do their job. They contacted me within 2 days of my signing on to let me know a driver had selected my car for pickup, and I had contact with the trucking company from then until my car was delivered. Amber was especially helpful; reworking my quote to include the note that my car was inoperable and always being friendly on the phone. I've had poor experiences shipping cars in the past, and it's easy to see that this industry is full of con artists and people who vastly under-quote you to make a quick buck on a cash deposit, or incessantly spam you with messages. State 2 State was neither of these, they were very competent and an absolute pleasure to do business with. Highly, highly recommend.
