Speedy Auto Shipping (a.k.a. SAS) exceeded my expectations

I sold my 2005 Acura TL to a buyer in Michigan via eBay, and the buyer wasn't very knowledgeable about auto transports (this was his first car!) so I helped him out. I issued a RFQ via ShipVehicles.com and was bombarded by quotes, all of them sounding exactly the same. The only email that caught my attention was from Christian Sailer, president of SAS, with a quote for $475. I called him and he picked up the phone right away. He informed me that they have been in business for 5 years, and that if I shipped my car with them, my car would be on one of their trucks all the way, with no broker as a middle man. So to verify this, I called some of the other places and confirmed that they were all brokers who don't own any trucks. Not only that, but after some searching on Google I learned that to maximize profits, brokers ship the highest paying customer's cars first, meaning that a good price almost always equals slow transport. So to get it delivered in 5 days' time would have cost about $800-$1200 via most brokers. Obviously the buyer wanted to have the car shipped quickly AND cheaply. So I suggested going with Speedy. Not only did they pick up the car within a couple of days from when I called to schedule, but on a Saturday! The car was in Okemos, MI by Wednesday with the same mileage on the odometer as when it was picked up. So my verdict is that if you want the low-overhead and personal service that only an independently owned company can provide, call SAS.

What motivated my to write such a detailed review? I was surprised that there weren't more reviews of SAS on this site and I wanted to support a company like SAS, which went the extra mile for me. I'm tired of mega-corporations putting all the 'little guys' out of business just because they can spend more on marketing, especially on the internet.
