Never Picked Up

Contacted them 10-30-2003 for a pickup on 11-3-2003. Called them on scheduled pick up day and was told they it was not scheduled, and that they dont start thier "clock" until after the "ready date". Well my ready date was when it was to be picked up. Anyway, they said give them 4 more days and they would come through for me. I said ok. Called them on the fifth day as they never once called to confirm anything EVER (had to call them 5 times for confirmation of order and info) and was told they had no idea when the porsche would ever be picked up. Meanwhile my car was sitting in a parking lot in new york. I had to call another company and pay for them to pick it up that day so it would be safe. Finaly got a response a few minutes ago from Ben apologizing for the lack of communication and that they were keeping $70 of my $170 deposit. I guess a fee for the one e mail saying sorry. All of the glowing e mails on this site about them make me go Hmmmm, whats up. Not True Ben (2nd Response) -- I gave you 5 business days before I fired you guys.
You are the ones that said "we have no idea when your car will be picked up" I am sure any reasnable person can see that this is not acceptable.
Your agreement doesnt state you have unlimited time to mill around and not provide a service, then keep part of the deposit for doing nothing. I hired another company that picked up my car in 12 hours after placing the order. I will be doing a rating on this site on them when my porsche arives.

We here at Specialty run a very tight ship. We work to make our standard level of service worth a five star rating. Part of the order process includes sending each of our customers an order form and shipping terms and agreements, which they sign saying they understand. Mr. Hargrave simply did not understand the agreement or is just a customer with too high of expectations. We call our customers with estimated pick-up and delivery dates when a truck is assigned to their order. Since we had the order for just two business days we had not assigned a truck and in turn had not yet called him. He cancelled his move with Specialty on the 4th available day and we still credited back the majority of his nonrefundable deposit. It is unfortunate that Mr. Hargrave did not give us a chance to provide our services and ended the transaction so quickly. ~Ben
