$3100 damage still unpaid!

My beautiful LandCruiser arrived in Wyoming with the tailgate smashed in (among other damage).
How many calls should it take to the Specialty Mobile Systems office to try to rectify this? Daily calls for 3 months, and still no insurance payment - no move toward resolution - no signs they intend to live up to their claims.

I picked Specialty Mobile Systems because of their insurance claims - all damage would be corrected - NOT! It's 3 months later, and NO payment (other than a return of their $195 broker fee). The website and owners claim they are fully insured. It turns out they refer your name to almost any driver willing to do the work - whether they have insurance or not. I drew the "short straw" and got the driver who claimed to have insurance. How does this sound: His insurance company would only pay me IF the driver paid HIS portion of his $1000 deductible. So, the driver would not pay. Effectively, NO INSURANCE! Even the owner says I got a bad deal, but he won't come through, either.

Readers, please understand that I did a lot of research before selecting this company. They were $300 higher than their competitors, but I felt their claims of insurance coverage (and excellent reviews of service prior to this one ) compensated for the higher cost. I also spoke directly with Amy Mathews (owner's daughter) prior to the shipment who assured me that their reputation was important to them, and damage, if any, would be fully paid. I won't say she lied, but I don't think her words were truthful.

Ultimately, a business is only as good as it's owner's promises. They failed to live up to their word. I PROMISE I would not use this company again, or let anyone I care about use them.
