I booked my sedan transport from Silicon Valley to DC-Metro area a month in advance with Specialty Mobile Systems (SMS). I had wanted my sedan to be delivered during a one-weeek window to Northern Virginia and followed SMS's advise for timely pick-up. The transport time was estimated at 7-12 days. I called Specialty Mobile 3-4 days before my car was suposed to be picked up to reconfirm my reservation and carrier. Although this is not standard procedure, it turned out to be very crucial. My contact at SMS (Denise) confirmed the reservation and I thought we were set to go. Soon afterwards she called the carrier (I assume to reconfirm) and found out that the carrier would not be able to deliver my car in the 10-12 days. She immediately offered to find me a carrier that would meet my needs. Within 24 hours, she found me a new carrier, Arizona Auto Transport. I'm very impressed at her promptness and speed to follow up and resolve a problem. There were no fees added for switching carrier in my case.

My experience with Arizona Auto Transport was also very good. An Arizona Auto Transport representative called me almost immediately after SMS left me a message concerning the new carrier. The driver (Ron) called me the same day informing me that he had received my order and to expect him late afternoon the following day. I was very impressed with the driver Ron. He was very curteous, responsible, and most of all, communicative. He called me to tell me about when I should expect him, and when that expectation changed. He returned my calls promptly, and always informed me of his current location. He was a bit late in picking up my car (was delayed by half a day) but he kept me updated on his location and when I should expect him. When I told him there are low-hanging trees in my neighborhood, he arranged for a flat-bed tow truck to tow my car from my apartment to his location (at no additional charge) so his cargo won't hit the branches and I wouldn't have to meet him somewhere outside. He also delivered the car early (7 days!), and almost to the hour he had estimated. Again, he was very communicative during the transit (called me from Arkansas to inform me he'd be in the area in 2 days, then again from N. Carolina, and finally from the location of the drop-off prior to mine). The car was delivered in prestine condition. Interior was clean, exterior had some dust and spots, but was much cleaner than I had expected.

Overall, I'm very happy with the broker (SMS/Denise) for promptly resolving a problem and assigning me to a reliable carrier. I'm very happy with the carrier (Arizona Auto Transport) and the driver (Ron) for being prompt, curteous, responsible and communicative. Given the uncertainty involved in auto-transports, I am very happy with my experience, and very glad I had gone with SMS.
