Expectations were Mixed

I selected Specialty Mobile because of their very high rating. The quotation I received from Specialty Mobile was extremely competitive and probably the best rate I received from the on-line bidding arrangement setup by this website. Dee Taylor was very responsive in helping setup the pickup-/delivery.

The challenge was that Specialty Mobile acted as a broker for this delivery and used Blue Angels Express based in Los Angeles, CA. While the car was picked up within the specified window, the pick-up occurred at 10:30pm on the last day of the pick-up window, which I thought was a bit "late" for most people.

On the delivery side, I had to call Blue Angels Express several times to find out what time the car would be delivered. I also received a call at 10pm indicating the the driver would be coming to make the drop. I suggested that this was too late and the following morning would be more appropriate. The car was deliverd the during the agreed upon window at 10:30am.

Overall, while Specialty Mobile provided a very high quality service, I thought Blue Angels Express did not manage my expectations because it was difficult to find the driver or understand the delivery window. I had previously used InterCity, which only provides enclosed carriers. My experience was InterCity was extremely positive because they do not sub-contract out their deliveries.

I would be inclined to used Specialty Mobile again if I could be confident that I could be kept in the loop as to the timing of my pickup/delivery window. These are circumstances that are many times out of the control of the broker, but it is always worth asking about the arrangement.
