Promise not kept

I hired Specialty to ship my Jaguar and the day after it was delivered I notified Specialty there was probably damage to the car due to the way it was mounted on the truck. I did appreciate Specialty's professionalism when they called to follow-up and their commitment to cover the repair costs. Ultimately I had the mounting brackets replaced and submitted the bill, with pictures of the damage, to Specialty. Despite their promise to reimburse me, they never did.
More facts: I paid Specialty $835 to ship my car and was able to have an independent auto repair shop (not the Jag dealer) replace the brackets for $250 (a bargain!!), still Specialty never reimbursed me.
Specialty may be nice to deal with, but their work wasn't great and they don't honor their promises.

We apologize for this customer’s poor experience and understand the customer’s frustration. Unfortunately this customer had a misconception that we the broker in this particular move were responsible for said damages. Specialty Mobile is a carrier and a broker. This particular move was brokered out to a carrier that was affiliated with us when this move was completed in July of 2005.

Specialty Mobile will act as a liaison in the event of unfortunate damages to a vehicle. We provide information to the customer for the carrier, and at that point the issue is in the hands of the customer, the carrier and the insurance company. If the insurance company denies a claim, like what happened in this move, there is no more that we can do to assist customers. According to the insurance regulations and by the regulations of the Department of Transportation these are the stipulations that apply.

Amy/Specialty Mobile
