It all began when I had to move from California to Virginia, and fast! I search on google for local transport companies and found several reviews for companies where customers had been ripped off or had major complaints. I went the BBB website and checked up on a few companies I had decided to contact. Two had good records with 0 complaints, according to the BBB database. I contacted both and received a call back from Specialty Mobile first.

Before the car was picked up, I paid a $195 deposit via Credit Card over the phone and was told the rest of the money could be paid as a cashier's check. I ran out and got the Cashier's Check as soon as I hung up. During transport of the vehicle, the driver called me to ask if I could pay in cash. I explained my story of how I had already gotten the cashier's check (in the amount of $950) and was unable to comply with his request. His heart sank at the grim news and I felt bad that I could not help him. Still, he graciously accepted the check upon delivery.

The car was delivered in Chantilly, VA and I was staying at a hotel in Sterling, VA. The driver graciously paid for my cab fare, so it was a non-issue. Since it was 9pm or so, I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to see any scratches, dents, knicks, etc in the heat of the night, but the driver was smart! He put the car in a well-lit parking lot for me to check over before I signed it.

I got lost on the way back to the hotel, but I can't blame the driver or Specialty Mobile for that. That's another story for another review.
