This was my first time transporting a car. I was transporting my 2001 BMW M5 across country. I researched many places on transport reviews prior to selecting specialty mobile. They originally assigned pioneer auto express as my carrier, after reading many reviews about them I requested a different carrier for my car. They then assigned me D&E Trade Transport. I was skeptical about the carrier as there were no reviews of the carrier, and the carrier was not registered with the better business bureau.

The carrier contacted me the day of pickup (Friday) stating the truck needed service, and that they would be picking up the car the next day. This was still in the delivery window, so I was fine with this. I contacted Amy at specialty mobile to see if this was going to be a problem since it was supposed to snow the next day. She contacted the carrier and assured me there would be no problem. The carrier arrived the next morning, and the hydraulics on the truck were frozen as it was so cold. They ended up loading my car up on the back part of the truck. They loaded my car up and left for californinia telling me they would be there the following Wednesday to Friday.

During transit was not contacted by either the carrier or specialty mobile. I called the carrier the last day of delivery (Friday) and he said he would call back the next day with delivery time. I called him back the next day, as he did not call me back, and he informed me that the driver was in Tennessee. He had been held up for a few days due to weather in Virginia. I understand that this is normal when transporting, but I was not informed by anyone that there was a delay. The carrier then told me that they would be in California in the next 48 hours. I then had to contact the carrier again 48 hours later to find out that the car would be delayed an additional day.

The car ended up being delivered in 9 days, but it was delivered outside the window that I had requested it be delivered in. The car was delivered dirty but still in good condition. The only complaint that I had about the process was a lack of communication. I was not contacted by either specialty mobile or the carrier through the entire process, and I am not even sure if specialty mobile is aware that my car was so delayed being delivered. All and all not a bad experience with specialty mobile, but in the future I will most likely just pick a carrier on my own.
