High expectations, poor result

I switched from another shipping company to Specialty Mobile since I was not getting a lot of responsiveness from the first and the reviews for Spec. Mobile were the tops. I lost some of my original deposit and paid a higher price for Spec. Mobile, but since the Specialty Mobile reviews indicated 1. my car would arrive without damage, 2. my delivery would be one time, I figured the extra $250 was worth it. Unfortunately, I was wrong on both accounts. It took more than 40 days from the "date available" until it was delivered to the destination. My truck wasn't even picked up for a month! Every time I called, the employee would say "pick up should be any day now, we drive this route a lot." Well, apparently not often enough. Ok enough about the delays, on to the damage. I had good contact with the driver as he made his way across the country. He planned to deliver on Sunday, but got caught up with deliveries in San Franscisco and had to move delivery back one day. That night, some kids knocked a baseball through the back window of my truck! To his credit, the driver ran the kids down and found their parents to pay for the damage, then he had the glass replaced that next morning before bringing it to me 2 hours away. Bottom line: my truck is nearly in one piece, but I was without it for 40 days when they predicted less than 15. Good luck!
