I recently shipped a 91 BMW 850i from NW Florida to Las Vegas, NV. The deal was to move it door to door. The driver picked the car up within a block of my home, shipped in an open auto transporter, and brought it to Las Vegas. Once in Vegas he said I would have to pick it up on the other side of town and that he didn't deliver doo-to-door. When I told him the contract was door-to-door he said, "well they make a lot of promises, but I don't deliver it to your door." We went round and round for several minutes until I told him I wasn't going to pick it up. He threatened to take it away and I told him I would report it as a stolden car. He finally agreed to bring it to my house and was a really nice guy. To bad I had to go through the experience to get him to do his job. He explained that my area didn't allow trucks. I fell back on my door-to-door contract. I think Special Mobile Systems needs to review the pick-up and delivery locations before they sign a door-to-door contract and put the driver in a bind.

To our future customers~ Our goal is door to door service. Door to door means as door to door as the trucks can get. As this customer stated, due to restrictions of the area in which he lives, large trucks were not permitted. We specifically explain this to customers when they place the order.
