Dealt with Werner at Smart Talk Transport. I was very hesitant to ship our vehicles at all, mostly because I've been burned before by other brokers. I received quotes from about a half dozen brokers. Werner was the only person to follow up, answer my questions, text me and take numerous phone calls to help ease my concerns. He promised he would do everything in his power to ensure our cars were well taken care of, including finding a driver with high reliability and good reputation.
For the most part, he did just that. Our driver arrived about 1.5 days after the agreed upon pick-up date due to an issue with his truck. Ultimately it was fine because we scheduled the cars to be picked up well in advance of our move (for reasons just like this). When the driver arrived, he was professional and apologetic about his arrival time. He loaded two brand new cars (a Lexus and a Honda) and we held our breath.
The driver arrived in Connecticut as scheduled and was quite responsive via text and phone throughout the journey. Our cars were in near perfect condition, though there were grease stains on the interior of my wife's driver's side door (probably from his hands when he was getting in and out of the vehicle during loading and unloading). That was a little disappointing, especially because I had given the driver a $75 tip. However, the grease wiped off without much of a problem.
In summary, Smart Talk Transport did what they promised they would do. I'd use them again. The best piece of advice I can give is to plan, plan, plan for every scenario. Schedule your pick-up well in advance of your move, if possible. Have someone available to retrieve the cars if the driver arrives earlier than anticipated.
