Smart Auto transport had a really great price for shipping my vehicle. At first they mentioned that shipping a car to ND may take up to 30 days just to pick the vehicle up since not alot of transports go to that state. They ended up picking it up within 2 or 3 days, that was great! I made a deposit with my credit card with the rest to be paid via cashiers check or cash at time of delivery. I had a cashiers check made out and ready for when the transport arrived. In the meantime I had a call from the transport company asking me to please pay cash since the driver was out of money and needed to put fuel in his truck. I found this to be rather unprofessional especially since I had recieved an email from the shipping company asking to be paid by cashiers check or cash. I ended up returning my cashiers check to the bank and paying with cash, no big deal. The car was inoperable but the vehicle did roll, steer and stop at time of loading. While in transport the transmissiong somehow got locked into park. I was onsight during off loading and I ended up having to unhook the driveshaft to roll the car off of the trailer. I also had unhooked the linkage to the transmission to see if that was binding it up but the transmission was just plain locked in park somehow. I'm not sure if something broke in the transmission when they were strapping it down or what. I really wasn't to concerned about it since the car is a project car, it had been sitting for a few years and needed to be gone through anyway.
