After talking to a number of brokers (most of whom seemed like fast-talking hustlers), I went with Shank Bros. for several reasons. First, they're small, which usually equates to better customer service and attention (they proved me right on this one). Second their broker's fee is much lower than average. Finally and most importantly, John Shank was very open and straightforward with me, explaining the "behind the scenes" aspects of the auto transport process and patiently answering all my "quiz" questions. John estimated he could find a driver within a week, actually found one in less than 24 hours (an a Saturday). My car (a creampuff 1983 Mercedes 240D) was picked up Monday in MD and delivered on Wednesday in NH in perfect condition. Transport company was Dogsled Transportation out of Revere, MA (driver: Greg), also highly recommended. John followed up with me by phone and email several times during the process, including after delivery to make sure everything went smoothly. I will for sure call Shank Bros. next time I need a car moved, and would recommend them without reservation to anyone.
