WARNING! DON'T FALL VICTIM! They’ll tell you whatever you want to hear to earn your business, then disappear when deadlines aren’t met. I recently purchased a Tesla in New Jersey and needed it transported to California. Before booking, I made it VERY clear to every company I spoke with that I had a vacation coming up in two weeks. SGT Auto Transport assured me that was “more than enough time” for delivery, so I decided to trust them with the job. Our contract listed a pickup window between 5/8/26 and 5/12/26, with a guaranteed delivery date of 5/20/26. In other words, even in the worst case scenario of a 5/12 pickup, they claimed they could deliver the car cross-country in 8 days. SGT then subcontracted the shipment to a company called Ozuu Express LLC, the “reputable and professional carrier” they supposedly stand behind. Trust me, I’ll be reviewing them separately as well. We heard absolutely nothing until the very last pickup day. That afternoon, I was told the driver would arrive between 5-8 PM and would call an hour before arrival. No call ever came, and the driver finally showed up at 8:20 PM (red flag #1). By then it was already dark, making it impossible to properly inspect the vehicle before handing it over. Then things got worse. For the next SEVEN DAYS, I watched my Tesla sit in the transporter’s parking lot through the Tesla app, without moving once. SEVEN DAYS (red flag #2). During that entire time, I repeatedly tried contacting Ozuu Express, but none of their phone numbers worked (red flag #3). So I contacted SGT instead. Conveniently, their phone system suddenly had a recording claiming they were experiencing phone issues and directing customers to online chat support (red flag #4). Since 5/18/26 (the day the car finally left New Jersey), just TWO DAYS before the promised delivery date, I have been in chat with SGT EVERY SINGLE DAY. The entire time, I’ve been given nothing but excuses and vague updates. SGT has repeatedly told me they’ve been “trying to reach Ozuu Express” to find out why the car sat for seven days and where it currently is. Apparently, they’ve been unable to get ahold of them ALL WEEK. Seriously? This is the company you chose to contract with and represent your business? (red flag #5) At this point, it feels like SGT completely misled me just to secure the booking and has now washed their hands of the situation. Their attitude seems to be: “Whenever the car arrives, it arrives.” The driver called while I was away on vacation. Something I deliberately was trying to avoid from the very first call to SGT. I had no one there to receive the car and was told if I didn't let them leave it in my driveway, they would drop it at a tow yard and I would be charged daily until I returned from vacation. This is the service you can expect from them. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Dear Bryan, We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations and appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns. We understand how important timing was for this shipment, especially with your upcoming travel plans, and we regret the frustration caused by the delays and communication challenges you encountered. That said, we would like to provide some important clarification regarding the transportation process. SGT Auto Transport operates as a licensed transportation broker, and as outlined in the signed Terms and Conditions, all pickup and delivery dates are estimated and subject to factors outside of direct control, including carrier scheduling, route adjustments, traffic, weather, mechanical issues, and compliance with federal transportation regulations. Your vehicle was successfully assigned within the contracted pickup window to a licensed and insured carrier, and transportation was initiated accordingly. While we understand your frustration regarding the transit timeline and the carrier’s delays after pickup, cross-country transport schedules can occasionally shift due to logistical circumstances that arise while the vehicle is already in transit. We would also like to clarify that it is incorrect that no one from SGT attempted to contact you regarding the situation. The matter was escalated to a supervisor from our team who personally contacted you to review the circumstances, discuss the delivery concerns, and assist in coordinating the best possible resolution based on the carrier’s status and available options at the time. Additionally, our team remained actively engaged throughout the process by communicating with the carrier and providing updates through the available support channels. We sincerely apologize if the temporary phone system issues and reliance on live chat support created additional inconvenience during an already stressful situation. Regarding delivery coordination, carriers are required to arrange delivery with an authorized party present to receive and inspect the vehicle. If no party is available at the scheduled delivery time, alternate arrangements such as rescheduling or secured storage may become necessary in accordance with standard transport procedures. We understand this was not the outcome you hoped for and regret the inconvenience this created during your vacation. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue reviewing carrier performance and improving the customer experience. While we recognize your dissatisfaction, we respectfully disagree with the characterization that anyone intentionally misled you, as our team worked to coordinate the shipment based on the information and carrier availability at the time of booking. We wish you the best moving forward and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.
