I wish there was zero or negative stars so I could give them to this company! Please avoid this business if you want peace of mind and care about your hard-earned dollars!!! Everything started very routinely and was supposed to be a smooth sailing but turned out to be very stormy halfway. The company gave me a quote telling me that I'm allowed to fill my car's trunk and it’s OK to place items on the backseat if it's not above the window level. I did so and placed some lightweight items (clothes, pillow, cool box, suits) on the back seat making sure they sit below the window level. The driver who picked up the car from origin was very nice. He controlled everything and picked up the car without mentioning anything the stuff on the back seat. Two days later I woke up in the morning noticing a few missed calls and a text message from the truck driver (different from the one who picked the car up). He wrote in his text message that he tried to reach out to me (at midnight!!!) regarding the items on the back seat. At first, he decided not to load my car, but he used his "best judgement" and loaded the car thinking it might be the option that I would've chosen. He asked me to call him to resolve the issue! When I called him, he said I shouldn't have placed anything on the back seat and as a result must pay $150 extra or he would drop off my car halfway! I felt I have no other choice and negotiated the extra payment to $125 although obviously was not happy with the situation. I thought this is the end of the story, but poor me! The driver called me again the next day saying that he has talked to the management of the company and the items on the back seat are more than what they supposed to be asking for more money (on top of the $125 that he asked for the day before). If this not harassment and extortion, then what is the definition of these two words in English?!!! I sarcastically told him apparently every time he enters a new state on his route, he is going to call me asking for more money. He then threatened to drop off my car by the side of the road if I didn’t agree to the payment! I reached out to the customer service that night. They called me back after talking to the driver basically reiterating the driver’s words without paying little attention to my concerns or caring about customer satisfaction. I asked them to send a note to their manager, so he gives me a call in the morning. The manager called me the next day repeating exactly what the truck driver had said and basically saying that I must pay the extra fee. Concerns and questions: 1. The auto shipping process that they advertise to be hassle free turned out to be more looks like a chicken bone in the throat rather than a piece of cake! 2. If they are planning to charge for extra items on the back seat, why not mentioning it after they picked the car up before shipping it? 3. An eighteen-wheeler with 10 cars loaded weighs something around 65000 lb. What would be the harm of an extra 100 lb.? They might argue what if every customer does the same thing? The eighteen-wheeler with 10 cars each carrying an extra 100 lb. would weigh 66000lb instead of 65000 lb.! OoVoo! It’s the end of the world, the trailer weighs 1.5% more now! 4. You know what. Forget what I said so far. Why would you call again asking for more money after you settled down the day before?! There is no explanation because this is the exact definition of extortion. I shared my personal experience with you. You be the judge!
