I hired this company to ship my car from Massachusetts to Colorado just after Christmas. The car was supposed to be picked up in Massachusetts on the 29th of December. I was flying out on the fourth of January. I stated that I was flexible in the pick up date so long as it was after Christmas and the car would arrive in Colorado within a few days after my arrival. Pete was very pleasant to talk with, very prompt with any communication he could give me, via email or telephone. However it did seem that it was a high pressure sales environment.
the day before I left I couldn't get anyone to return my phone calls regarding when the car would be picked up. The reason I got was that everyone had gone on vacation, and was spending time with their family. Fair enough, but maybe keep one or two people on duty so I can get my questions answered (I work holidays for the public, maybe someone should work a holiday for me).
my car was not even picked up until after I left for Colorado. When I was in the airport, Pete called me. he informed me that the car would be picked following day BUT, "the driver wanted an extra $25.". So I am still confused. WHY was the amount raised at the last possible second? They charged me more to do a job later than agreed upon. At this point, I didn't want to argue I just wanted my car to be shipped, immediately, so I reluctantly agreed. (I feel like they changed the price because I am a young female, and they felt like they could talk me out of being angry.)
The car, to my surprise was shipped promptly and arrived only four days later.
A tow truck arrived with my car on it. The car was very dirty. All the contents were still where I had placed them and nothing was stolen. the miles were appropriately more than I had left it with, and the gas was appropriately less. No additional scratches or dents were found on the car. However, the driver informed me that the car needed to be jumped to be placed on the tow truck and that they had found oil leaking from the engine into the air filter.
I'm not sure how this happened. I am disappointed that the car was not handled more carefully to prevent a leak like this. I didn't have any problems with it at the time it left Massachusetts and I didn't expect to have any when it arrived.
I would not use this company again.
