I chose Reliable because the offered a direct service From Michigan to Arizona (Chandler) at a reasonable cost.

Car was picked up without issues in an enclosed carrier on a Wednesday. I called the dispatcher and was told delivery of the car was going to be in 4 days and was going to be loaded and shipped on a Friday or Saturday. I asked for a confirmation when the car shipped out and was told this would happen. Reliable did not call me when shipped. I also asked for a contract or documents for shipment and was told one was not necessary. I made numerous calls and left messages afterward and they were not returned.

I made travel reservations to pick up the car on a Wednesday at their Chandler AZ facility. This seemed reasonable if the car shipped the latest on Saturday, it would be at the location on Tuesday. I called Reliable dispatch prior to getting on a plane Wednesday and the dispatcher did not know the status but asked me to check in when in landed on Phoenix. When I arrived in Phoenix, I called Reliable and was told the car was in Flagstaff because of a truck breakdown and could not be delivered until Friday. I offered to rent a car and drive to Flagstaff to pick up the car and was told to contact the team drivers. The drivers said there was a problem with the truck (eventually told me it was an air drier) and said I could not get the car because the truck and trailer were in two different locations and needed the truck to unload the car. They also told me they had documents that it did not need to be delivered until Thursday and besides have not has any days off for a while. So, what really was the case is the drivers wanted time off.

So I was in Phoenix airport with my son to pick up a car a day later. Rented a car and stayed at a hotel for the night.

On Wednesday afternoon the Reliable Dispatcher called me and demanded payment over the phone. This caught me by surprise as I wasn't too pleased as I just incurred additional expenses for them being late. I told them I wanted to see the car before payment and was told to work with the Vice President, Al, in Chandler.

I arrived at 8 am Thursday to pick up the car and met Al. He immediately asked for payment. I asked to see the car and was escorted to their side parking lot to see the car. The car was a little dirty and had finger prints on it and the driver’s window was left down. A little condensation occurred inside the vehicle. I asked Al for the inspection sheet and he reluctantly provided it and again asked for payment. I complained about the late delivery and he told me the drivers took time off but the car was delivered per documentation. He told me if I did not pay immediately, he would take possession of the car and ship it back. It is unclear how Al became Vice President of the company but it certainly wasn't because of his customer service. I paid their fee and left.

It would have been nice for someone within Reliable Carriers to say "sorry for your inconvenience" but all I received is a bunch of excuses, poor attitude, and give me your money.

Here are my suggestions:
• Do not use Reliable Carriers
• If you have to use them, get a contract or documentation prior to shipping and document every conversation!
