Moving a car should never be this hard. After being bombarded with phone calls and emails from David when I asked for a quote and paid my deposit (almost immediately, they do not hold your deposit until the car is picked up for reasons I will explain later), I never heard from him again.

The drop dead date for pickup of my car was May 26th as I was moving across country. Never mind they had several weeks to pick up beforehand, they completely blow by that date without ever calling to tell me. Their call center is completely unresponsive so for days I would call and call, leave messages all with no response. When I would get one of David's goon friends (Darren or Elijah) they would feed me lines like "David will call you in 15 minutes" or "We can't believe we missed the pickup date, that never happens." Picture yourself waiting to go to the airport with your car still at your origination and no one answering from the company that is picking up. Hour after hour, day after day.

Finally, Priscilla in the dispatch office talked to me and said that my case was unique and that they would have to find another carrier. This is where Reliable Auto really reveals their scum bag operation. See they do not employ the different drivers that carry your car. They are a middleman that calls around the country looking for drivers whom they leave to you to coordinate. The $150 deposit you pay goes to their offices and, as I said before, they charge you immediately so they have no skin in the game of helping you get your car. Congratulations, you essentially pay someone to do what Google can do just as well if not better.

Finally, we were told that our car was to be picked up the following week. Didn't happen. Then we were told it would be picked up the next week. Didn't happen. FINALLY, after having our friend drive the car in every day to work (remember we have already left the state) the big day comes: D and L Transport (operated by a crack head from Baltimore) picks up the car. He proceeds to tell our friend that the clothing in the car is going to cost us more ( Reliable Auto says you are allowed to have up to 100lbs.). He informs our friend that he will let us know the price when he comes to deliver the car.

Then things get interesting. His truck, unbeknown to us, is a road hazard so he has to spend the next week in Phoenix Arizona having an engine overhaul. Because he is broke, as I said he is a crackhead, he cannot afford for the repairs so he begins calling us, along with the other car owners on his truck, to solicit contributions to his cause under the excuse that if we really want our cars, we will "help a brother out."

When we complained to Reliable Auto that this was the final straw that we wanted our car picked up by another company (remember this is nearly 3 weeks past the drop dead date for pick up) they continued with the same classic lines "this never happens" and "I am shocked." Nothing, of course, was ever done about this.

Ultimately, the car was just delivered a few days ago (6/18). I cannot stress how maddening and frustrating this experience was. At not point was Reliable Auto willing to help. In fact, when the car was finally delivered and the moment of truth came of what were to pay EXTRA for the bag of clothing in our car, Reliable told D and L Transport to "charge whatever you want, it is your responsibility now." I encourage you to contact me if you have questions. I am making it my mission to never let another person work with this scum bag company.
