Pick up went well, drop off didn't

The people over the phone were very nice and the person doing the pick up was nice as well, though I wish that when they give you a window of "from 8 - 12" they didn't push it so far closer to the 12. Originally they gave us a window of anywhere from 8 AM - 5 PM but I said we can't sit around an empty house for 9 hours and needed to get moving. I had to call to make sure the driver was on his way to pick up as we sat in an empty house ready to clear out so that we can head to our new state.

We actually saw the vehicle on a truck as we drove down that night (about 5 hours after pick up). We stayed at a hotel overnight. The plan was to meet up with our vehicle at our new place late in the afternoon / early evening.

As we're eating lunch about 3 hours away from our destination I get a call from the driver that he's a few minutes away from our new apartment. I explained to him that we were still hours away. The call dropped or he hung up, I don't know which it was- I think he hung up. I hurried out, didn't even finish lunch and high tail it to our location.

As I'm driving I get a call from Reindeer that the driver is there and needs to drop off the car and that either someone be there to pick it up or they'll store the vehicle and charge fees. How on God's green earth do they expect someone to make the trip in one day when they picked up our car so late? Then, we're new to the area and don't know anyone that can receive it. It was almost like they rig things so that you're forced to have the car in storage and pay the fees.

I told them that I was driving and I'd see if I can call our building management to see what I could do. Luckily I had called them about an hour before so I didn't have to scramble looking for their number while driving 70 MPH. They were able to accept our car. I called Reindeer back and told them that the management can take it - she then asked me if I had their phone number. Yeah, let me take my eyes off the road and get that for you. She seemed to understand.

In the end, our vehicle was there waiting for us. Which I guess is what they were paid to do (my company was paying them). But, much can be improved with the scheduling of the vehicle and "it gets there when it gets there, whether you're ready or not".

In response to your move, your 1985 Jeep CJ was transported from NJ to SC which was a total of 617 miles. When your car picked up by noon, the driver explained he was going to be at destination the next day. He arrived around 3pm and was informed that you were in VA. Arrangements were made with your apartment office complex in Ft Mill, SC that you were residing would accept the car. Car was off the transporter before 5pm. We feel the service transit you received was impeccable and your car arrived safely to your new destination. We are sorry that you were unhappy that the delivery took place so quickly as it was within the delivery window given at time of pick up.
