This was the first time I've shipped a car across the country, so i did a bunch of research online and then some price comparison. In the end, I chose Red Carpet because they would match competitive prices, seemed friendly and were quick to respond to my inquiry. Everthing worked out in terms of timing and delivering the vehicle undamaged. My one complaint is that when we got down to shipping early within the window we had discussed, the price increased because the company they outsourced to asked for more. I had the choice to wait for another company, but felt i might be at risk to meet the dates and so went for the increased price, asking them to meet me halfway. They came almost halfway, niggling over around 15 bucks, which seemed petty given the circumstances. If I hadn't felt rushed or exposed, I would have insisted they stick to the quote and eat the overage. Lesson learned. Still, other than that they handled things professionally.

Mr. Dix, I apologize that you feel we didnt give you 5 star service. I wanted to respond to this personally, so I could not only enlighten you, but all other potential clients. This industry is full of bad companies, but it has a lot of great companies as well. Let me explain the industry a little bit and maybe it can make a little more sense. 1. This industry is controlled by brokers who have access to drivers nationwide for all the various routes that are brought to us from our customers. There are routes that are very easy to find drivers for and there are routes that can be downright impossible. Please make sure your expecations are in check if you are going from Maine to North Dakota. With that being said, we will work for FREE until we find a driver for your vehicle, which means you are not at risk. 2. The quotes we provide are an estimate of what we believe it will take for a driver to take your vehicle for that particular route. We base that off past history and current trends. A lot of companies will purposely give you a low ball quote just to get your order, charge a deposit that is non refundable and your vehicle never gets shipped. All brokers that give you a quote are giving you just that....a quote. It's not a fixed price. It never is until a particular driver commits to that load and route. Our job as auto transport brokers is to get your vehicle moved. If we have to come back with some bad news, like a driver asking for more money, then it's our job to do so. It is at that point, you have the option to say yes or no. 3. Pricing in this industry is a living breathing monster. There isnt a "price guide" or $$ per mile from state to state. There are busy seasons when it costs more and slow seasons, when you can typially get better pricing from the drivers. Again, we don't make a penny until we get a reputable driver to pick up your vehicle, so it does us NO GOOD to give you a quote that is too low to attract a driver. With that being said, there are times when our quotes or estimates are not exactly what the drivers are looking for. If our quote or estimate is not the market value, the drivers will call and ask for the load, but let us know what they are willing to do the job for. 4. Why am I telling everyone this? It's an attempt to be transparent and to educate the masses who will be shipping their vehicles. People dont ship their car everyday, so they are not familiar with the workings of this crazy industry. We try our best to educate our customers over the phone, but sometimes it doesnt all sink in. We would definitely rather under-promise and over-deliver every day of the week. 5. Do your research. Yes, we are going to have a lot of 5 star reviews with some mixed in 3 star reviews. We are not going to be able to make everyone happy. A lot of companies will only have customers they know will give them a 5 star review post on their page. We allow everyone to post their review, whether they are happy or upset. That's how we learn and how we train our employees. We want to give every customer a 5 star experience, but when you deal with the volume we deal with, there will be something negative that pops up from time to time. I hope this helps everyone and if you have further questions or concerns before shipping, please contact me directly. Tony Quinn President Red Carpet Auto Transport 602-438-4644
