First, I have had several cars shipped before I used Quality Relocations or Q Auto Transport. My shippers do not run through Washington, but Q Auto said it was one of their main shipping lanes.
I went through Q Auto Transport to have a 1 of 112 rare 2000 Roush Cougar delivered to Texas. One of the greatest cars I have seen! The paint job had won two awards and it is the rarest Cougar ever made.
I explained this to Q Auto, who has a 5 star rating here, and since their site shows a trailer with their name on it behind a rig, and since they said they had trucks in the area, I thought it would be one of their trucks instead of on of their shippers. First thing you learn, always ask if they are brokering or shipping.
They told me that they would pick the car up no later than Thursday of that week. I was later asked to pay $25 to have it picked up by Thursday which I paid since I had told the owner it would be picked up that day.
Q Auto guarantees that if you use their service the shipper will load the car once and it will driven by that driver to your location. This did not happen.
The driver needed help loading the car because it was a standard. They loaded it onto a single car hauler which was fine with me since it would not be under a junk car on a large hauler leaking fluids and rocks. So I thought....
The driver left his number with the owner. I was not able to contact the company nor the driver for several days. I contacted Q Auto and that is when they told me they had brokered the job to Quality Relocation Service. I contacted the local police and they said they could not reach anyone there either. I thought they had stolen the car after reading the other review here.
Several days later, I was contacted by the driver. He asked for my exact location to deliver the car and said he would be there between 4am and 5 am the next morning!
They called me at 5 am and said they could not get the car in reverse and were in front of my house They were actually in front of my mothers house down the road. What I saw next was a nightmare!!
When my wife and I turned the corner, we saw the car was now on a car hauler on the lower level below a wrecked truck! There was smoke coming out of the car and it was covered in oil. transmission fluid, antifreeze, and rocks!!! I don't mean just a little, it was covered. Please send me a message through this site and I will be happy to send you photos. I jumped in the car and found that they had broke the shifter. It was just swinging freely in a circle. I took off the leather cover and saw that they had broken it away from the linkage and several parts surrounding the shifter were broken, including the roush shifter. I asked him why they broke it and he said that he thought you had to push down on it to put it into reverse. I asked to see the Bill of Laden and saw that it had three spots marked as scratched, one of which I new was there. The other two were not even on the car. It was as though they knew it would be damaged. They had marked the car as 'poor condition'. I asked him why they had it marked that way? He said, "Because it didn't have a bumper attached!" I asked him to look over his shoulder in the back seat and he saw the bumper, which they had asked us to remove so it could be loaded because it was a drift kit on the front and was too low too low to load.
I finally got the linkage hooked back up, which will not stay hooked up now, and they made me get out of the car to unload it.
They said I could not have the car until I signed for it, so I signed the page and then started putting the damage down. I was able to write the damage to reverse gear and the shifter and the young guy took the paper away. He said that I was not allowed to put the damage down because the company would charge the driver for the damage even though they are insured.
I contacted Q Auto and they said to take pictured and send them in asap. I sent pictures before and after. Q Auto contacted Quality Relocations and things went from bad to worse. They stopped all communication with the Q Auto, their insurance company and myself. I then found out that they had a $2500 deductible. I was asked to get an estimate so I went to a shop that is approved by Allstate and other major insurance companies. The damage was $7900 just for the paint, windshield, back window and damage to the exterior parts. That did not include the damage to the shifter and gears.
As of August 16, 2013, we still have not been able to reach Quality Relocations. No one has. Now I am stuck with a car that has hundreds of chips in it, a broken windows, and cannot be driven safely without the shifter breaking free from the linkage.
All the brokers that anyone can contact are being told not to use this company ever again!
PLEASE! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!
I am sure they will try to respond with a line of lies to cover themselves, but pictures say a thousand words. Again, I will be happy to send you the photos to show what they will do to your car.
