Chris worked hard to try to get my vehicle to a state where carriers don't go as often. He was able to get a carrier to take the car to Las Vegas where we flew down and drove it 700+ miles home. Worked out OK in the end. Chris knows this industry and like any other broker he posts on a national board our interests in where the vehicle is picked up and is to be delivered. Hundreds of truckers see the board every day to determine if they are interested for the price listed. The brokers have no real control over which company may contact them to say they will do the transport. I think Chris is a sole proprietor and not just one of many brokers working for a large company. Dealing with one person is a better situation in this, my only experience, in shipping a car. Although the carrier had agreed to pick up the car in Texas on one date, he called late that evening to say he would not be able to pick it until the next day. The driver called me two days later to inform me he would be dropping off the car in Las Vegas on the scheduled date, probably in the late afternoon. He never showed up and never called. Around 6-7PM that evening another driver called to inform us he was taking over for the first driver and would not be able to deliver the car until the next morning around 9:30 AM. He showed up on time, we got the car and headed to Oregon. Perfect example of what I have told you- -Broker does his job, but from that point on all of us are pretty much at the mercy of the carrier. Day late on both ends, frustrating each day of course, but our car was undamaged and is now safely tucked into our garage. If you ship a car be prepared for these kinds of things. This is obviously a tough business. Be sure to connect with a broker with 5 star ratings. And, the more a broker's web-site promises you, the more skeptical you should be.
