Late delivery and damaged wheel bearing

My car delivery range on the agreement was stated no later than December 28th. At this point, I had heard nothing about the location of my car. I then contacted Progressive Autorelocation to get a status update. They told me that the driver would contact me. After a days time, the driver had not contacted me. I then contacted the driver's company directly (Progressive Autorelocation is a broker for other companies). I was told by this company that they thought my car had already been delivered. After I threatened to call the police they told me that the tractor trailer the car was on had broken down. I was then told that the car would be delivered by Wednesday or Thursday. Late on Wednesday evening I was called by a driver to be told my car would be delivered on Thursday. On Thursday, my car was delivered (after 16 days...the agreement was 7 to 10 days...).

I gave the driver the cash and he parked my car in the driveway. I then took the car out for a drive and noticed a loud noise. I drove the car to my car dealer and after examination they told me that the wheel bearing had been badly damaged and needed to be replaced. The cost of this replacement will be approximately $500. I have contacted Progressive Autorelocation to see if they will pay for it since they are supposed to include "insurance" but I have received no response to a phone message or email.

When I shipped my car out to California 4 years ago I used JMN Logistics and had NO problems. Use Progressive Autorelocation at your own risk.

Unfortunately, break downs do occur from time to time. Most are unavoidable. We do apologize for the lack of communication from the carrier. A claim for the damage is in with their insurance company. Hopefully this will be resolved quickly for you.
