I was contacted by Al from Presidential Movers in reply to my request for quote in order to move my vehicle from Denver, CO to Houston, TX. The quote stated a charge of "$435.00 subject to contract [see paragraph#16 ]". Now here comes the tricky part "paragraph#16". It goes on like this:

16. If Presidential cannot secure a carrier for the quoted price and the $170 broker fee, we reserve the right to refund the deposit in full or request additional monies in order to get the vehicle moved. If you are not prepared to offer more, we will continue seeking a carrier to move your vehicle at the economy price for the remainder of the economy service period for pickup [7-18 days from the original pickup date]. All rates quoted are estimated rates contingent on the carrier's acceptance, unless specifically noted

So my quote price was $435 + $170 (from the tricky paragraph#16) which is $605.
However, Presidential Movers WILL NEVER EVER secure a carrier for the quoted price and the $170 broker fee. So they reserve the right to refund the deposit (which they would NEVER DO) and WILL TRY TO request additional monies (in a tricky way) in order to get the vehicle moved. Since it would be more than the quoted price, any customer will never accept the offer. They will NOT continue to seek a carrier to move your vehicle at the economy price. So they will however move your vehicle and will ask you to pay an additional $250 as broker fee.

I payed $605 to Presidential Movers and just when I got the vehicle, I was asked to pay an extra $250 as broker fee. By not doing so, I was told that my vehicle will be held up at the Mover's lot and in order to get it back, I will have to pay a $30 fee for each day my vehicle gets parked at their lot. I tried contacting Al and he threatened me saying "we have a team of lawyers who would take care of my case, if I refuse to pay as per the contract". Its a lesson learnt. The tricky paragraph # 16 was so well articulated to trick me into paying a total $855.

A very unprofessional company run by cheats like Al.
