My truck was being repaired at a body shop in Pennsylvania when I began searching for a reasonable solution to having it returned to New Mexico. I opted for Parker trucking since they actually owned at least one truck, and I hoped to avoid the broker/salesman aspect of this business. Joanne Parker was cordial and gave me what I considered at the time a reasonable quote ($900) to do the job. Her first email on 12/15/2010 stated: “I have priced this so that your vehicle will get moved in a timely manner.” We discussed the situation by email and phone on and off for 2 weeks and she assured me that when the truck was ready to go the job would get done. I had an estimated job completion date for my vehicle of 12/29/2010 and hoped for a pickup early in the week of 1/3/2011. The repair work was completed on 12/30/2010 and I advised Ms. Parker of such. She said that following the holiday weekend she would arrange for the job to be done and anticipated a pickup of my vehicle early in the week of 1/3/2011. On Monday evening (1/3/2011) I received the following email: "Unfortunately I did not get your vehicle moved this morning liked I had hoped to. At this point I am turning back your vehicle. We have worked the holidays and have not had a day off since July 4th and are taking time off. Sorry for the inconvenience," Joanne Parker.
I want to be clear that I did not pay anything to Parker Trucking as Ms. Parker said we would complete the contract when a trucker was assigned, but two and one half weeks of planning and communication were tossed aside and I was left starting from scratch to find a transporter. As a result of this blatant unprofessionalism, I was left scrambling for an auto transport company and ended up with an even more dismal organization (See POLAR EXPRESS) and my vehicle ended up sitting in Pennsylvania until 1/26/2011. I received it on 2/5/2011 at a charge of 52% higher than the original quote. In retrospect I would have flown back to Pennsylvania and driven my truck home rather than deal with any transport company. I thought I was making an intelligent decision by having my vehicle transported, but the actual service these companies offer does not begin to approach what they promise in their sales pitches. Beware.

James, I am sorry that I was unable to move your vehicle. I tell every customer that if I do not have a driver assigned to your vehicle within 3 days, that I am turning the vehicle back to you. I did just that. I am not one to hang on to a vehicle only for it not to move. It is in your best interest that I do not hang on to your vehicle. The holidays did not help the situation. Most drivers took the holidays off and the market was flooded come the first of the year. I am sure the storm the first of the year did not help either. Sorry to hear you had such a hard time moving your vehicle. ~ Joanne
